I needed this weekend like I've needed no other weekend in a while. I came down with a bug last week and took some time off of work and by Saturday morning I began feeling better until I decided to accompany my roommate, Aaron to Ramona for a photo shoot. This shouldn't have been a problem except we were outside for about 2 and a half hours in 30 degree weather. In fact when we packed up and left it was a cool 31 degrees with an approximate 10mph wind. Flakes of snow were even falling. Needless to say I caught a chill that lasted with me for most of the rest of the day and pushed me back into the fog of sickness.
Saturday night ended up being a very lazy evening. I accompanied Flor to a school group potluck dinner party in Encinitas and then spent the evening with her and her sisters at PLNU. While there we watched a Christian Illusionist perform. I've seen better but this guy was definitely talented and generally fun to watch. He did however do one of my favorite card tricks - 4 Aces. You can watch a variation of this trick here on YouTube:
Anyway, Sunday I was very sick but Flor and I watched the Chargers lose, entertained my parents for dinner and then watched a classic Hitchcock film: The Birds. Very cool and very dated in style. I enjoyed the movie but it doesn't have the intensity that a modern suspense has. Monday ended up being my first day of feeling really better. My parents came over around 11am and went to lunch with me, Flor, Aaron, and AJ. Then we spent some time checking out Cabrillo Monument on what ended up being an amazingly beautiful day. The few pictures we took can be found here on Picassa Web.
Overall much of the weekend I was able to relax and recuperate from my illness and that was key. Now I'm strong enough for work, yeah! When's the weekend going to get here? :)
